Bookings Terms and Conditions

We understand that it may be necessary to change your appointment, however a $30.00 Cancellation Fee applies to all cancelled bookings if less than 3 days notice is given.
To Avoid this Cancellation Fee, Rob's Garage requests band's and clients to provide ample notice to allow other pro bands a chance to fill the vacancy.

• Rob's Garage requests 72 hours notice of cancellation or amendments.
• If no notice is given, full fee will be charged.
• If you do not show for your appointment full fee will be charged.
• Cancellations notified less than 24 hours prior to arrival will incur a cancellation fee of $30.00.
• Rob's Garage understands that amendments may have to be made due to a band members illness, family commitments etc., so no Cancellation Fee will be charged if booking amendments can be made in the following 7 days, depending on studio availability.

The rehearsal room is prepared especially for the type of booking or package that you have booked, the cost and time involved in this is still applicable when you do not show. To allow Rob's Garage to continue to offer the very best service and experience, we kindly ask you to ensure you understand our cancellation policy.

Rob's Garage does not sell, rent, or loan any identifiable information regarding our customers to any third party. For more information please view the Privacy Policy of this website.

No smoking or alcohol is allowed in the actual rehearsal / engineers room, however smoking is allowed outside with ashtray and seats provided. Alcohol is not permitted due to liquor licensing laws.

No Rock n Roll antics ( i.e. No biting heads off chickens or bats, smashing guitars / drums / Mics / speakers or other instruments, punching walls / doors or fighting with other band members, spitting blood, spewing or any other illicit act deem by Rob to be offensible in the best interests of the studio).
No chewing gum is allowed on premises.

Band members and friends are requested to maintain composure whilst inside and outside the rehearsal studio AT ALL TIMES otherwise get a quick eviction from the premises. Refer to Liabilities.

Any damages, theft of property in relation to Rob's Garage Rehearsal Studio and / or equipment and surrounding areas, caused or carried out by clients at anytime whilst they utilize Rob's Garage will be held accountable and prosecuted accordingly to the fullest extent of the law.

Rob's Garage is Not Liable for any Hearing Loss or Ear Damage that clients may incur, resulting from utilizing Rob's Garage Rehearsal Studio. Rob's Garage recommends using earplugs whilst rehearsing or recording and can be purchased from the Rob's Garage storefront if needed.

Rob's Garage offers a camping area for interstate or international bands whom may wish to stay overnight if rehearsing, recording and/or gigging in Canberra. Camp over clients have access to power, water, toilet, bathroom, kitchenette facilities, BBQ, fireplace, outdoor furniture ( chairs and table ) and free parking.

You have to bring your own tents, air mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, tarps, food and refreshments and the cost for each band member and/or client is $10.00 per person per night. Residential noise restraints have to be abided to as in no noise from 10.00pm to 8.00am in the morning.

Rob's Garage is an Airconditioned Rehearsal Studio located in the suburb of O'Connor, Canberra Australia. It comprises a 5.0m by 5.0m airconditioned rehearsal room, with an adjacent engineer's room 3m by 4.5m, storeroom, toilet / kitchenette facilities, outdoor BBQ area and offers a camping area for interstate or international bands whom may wish to stay overnight if rehearsing, recording and/or gigging in Canberra. Currently only one room with no interference from other bands and also has FREE parking.

Rob's Garage Airconditioned Rehearsal Studio was established 11th May 1998. Fully insured and registered as a business name under the Business Names Act at The Australian Capital Territory Government Registrar - General's Office, Business no: F00089043, Australian Business Number ABN 21 981 214 782.

The following rehearsal packages are available at Rob's Garage Airconditioned Rehearsal Studio.

• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 1 - Room Only hire where you utilise the room and electricity bringing your own P.A. system, speakers, amps, drums, mics, guitars, leads, stands, laptops, CD player etc.,
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 2 - Room hire with Rob's Garage providing P.A. system, speakers, mics, leads, stands, music stand, tape deck and CD player with clients bringing their own amps, drums, guitars, keyboards etc.,
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 3 - Incorporates Package 2 with Rob's Garage providing drums and cymbal hire which incur an additional hiring cost for the drums besides the rehearsal studio hire fees. Drum hire charges are for Old Kit $5.00 p/hr, New Kit $10.00 p/hr.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 4 - Incorporates Package 3 with Rob's Garage providing up to 2 guitar amps and one bass amp for hire as well. Amp hire, whether guitar amps or bass amp are $5.00 p/hr each besides Drum hire charges.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 5 - Incorporates Packages 3 & 4 where clients wish not to utilise the P.A. system and only be charged for room hire alongside amps and drum hire.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 6 - Room Only option where drummers bring their own drums or hire Rob's Garage old or new drum kit for drum practice or drum exam purposes.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 7 - Room hire with P.A. option where drummers bring their own drums or hire Rob's Garage old or new drum kit which are fully mic up through the P.A. system providing foldback and recording to tape options. Up to 8 drum mics and channels can be utilised.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 8 - Room Only option where guitarist/s bring their own amp/s or hire Rob's Garage guitar amp/s and/or bass amp for guitar practice or guitar exam purposes.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 9 - Room hire with P.A. option where guitarist/s bring their own amp/s or hire Rob's Garage guitar amp/s and/or bass amp which are fully mic up or DI through the P.A. system providing foldback and recording to tape options. Up to 8 mics and channels can be utilised, however only 3 DI boxes are currently available, unless you can bring your own DI boxes.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 10 - Room Only option where soloists or instrumentalists just wish to practice in.
• REHEARSAL PACKAGE 11 - Room hire with P.A. option where soloists or instrumentalists are mic up or DI through the P.A. system providing foldback and recording to tape options.

In the kitchenette area there is a bar fridge, microwave oven, hot water kettle, cups, glasses, knives, spoons, forks, tissues and some plates in which clients can utilise when rehearsing or recording. Clients can also utilise the BBQ and BBQ utensils outside if they wish to cook up a mean feed.

Rob's Garage is situated between Lyneham, O'Connor, Dickson, Ainsle and Braddon shops and therefore does not supply or provide refreshments such as drinks or snack machines, tea, coffee, milk or sugar etc., so if you wish to munch and pig out, you will have to provide your own refreshments and are welcomed to utilise the above mentioned kitchen facilities if need be.

The operating hours or rehearsal sessions are generally between:
10.00AM - 10.00PM Monday to Saturday
10.30AM - 9.00PM Sunday

Hours are Flexible depending on bookings from other bands. All day bookings, weekends, available as well. Bands are allocated a half hour set up time before the rehearsal rates commence.

Bookings can be made via Landline, Mobile, Email or by Snail mail. If you wish to book the rehearsal studio online by email, you can do so by clicking the Online Bookings link.

Online email bookings require a couple of steps to be completed before confirmation of booking can begin. Before making an online email booking, please follow the steps listed below (the following steps are also listed in the Online Bookings webpage as well).

1. Click the Studio Availability link to view studio vacancies or available rehearsal studio dates.
2. Click the Online Bookings link and fill in the required details on the form and submit the information.
3. A response email with an Activation Link will then be sent to you, summarising your booking details ( this will complete Step 1 in the online booking process ).
4. Click the Activation Link in the response email.
5. Clicking the Activation Link will take you to a login area, where you can login with your username and password ( this will complete Step 2 in the online booking process ).
6. After you log in, check to see if your booking has been properly Activated in the bookings database by clicking the Booking Activations link.
7. If your booking has been correctly Activated, cool, log out then Step 3 in the online booking process will commence with management checking your booking for any conflicts in dates and times in respect of other bookings.
8. If there are no conflicts you will receive an email with a word document attachment confirming your booking details, usually within 48 hours.
9. After your receive your email and word document Booking Confirmation details, the Cancellation Policy comes into effect.

The following recording packages are available at Rob's Garage Airconditioned Rehearsal Studio.

• RECORDING PACKAGE 1 - Room Only hire where you utilise the room and electricity and bring your own Sound Engineer, recording gear, instruments, amps, drums, guitars, keyboards and mics etc.,.
  Minimum hourly increments are set as 3 hour blocks, so for example if you book for a 9 hour session, the rate is $40.00 for every 3 hour block which would total $120.00 for the 9 hour session.
• RECORDING PACKAGE 2 - Room hire with Rob's Garage providing a Sound Engineer, recording gear, P.A. system, speakers, mics, leads, stands, music stand, with clients bringing their own amps, drums, guitars, keyboards etc., and own mics if they wish to. The rate is $70.00 per hour, so for example if you book for a 9 hour session, the total would amount to $630.00 for the 9 hour session.
• RECORDING PACKAGE 3 - Incorporates Recording Package 2 with Rob's Garage providing drums and cymbals with clients bringing their own amps, guitars, keyboards etc., and own mics if they wish to. Minimum hourly increments are set as 3 hour blocks, the rate is $75.00 per hour, so for example if you book for a 9 hour session with the drums included, the total would amount to $675.00 for the 9 hour session.
• RECORDING PACKAGE 4 - Incorporates Recording Package 2 with Rob's Garage providing drums and amps as well with clients bringing their own guitars, keyboards etc., and own mics if they wish to. Minimum hourly increments are set as 3 hour blocks, the rate is $80.00 per hour, so for example if you book for a 9 hour session, the total would amount to $720.00 for the 9 hour session.
• RECORDING PACKAGE 5 - Basically this incorporates any one of the Rehearsal Packages with Rob's Garage providing a stand alone stereo cassette deck with 2 microphone inputs to capture just the room sound. A simple and quick setup with Rob's Garage providing two Shure SM 57's mics or clients may bring their own mics if they wish to. If clients are utilising condenser microphones, bring your own Phantom Power units to power and connect the mics to the cassette deck, or utilise Rob's P.A. Phantom Power.
